What is Sponsorship?Throughout Mexico poverty and abuse destroy the lives of many women and children each day. The goal of La Roca, located in Tijuana, Mexico, is to help support these women and children so that they can break the cycles of poverty and abuse in their lives and restore hope to their futures. The Servants Network Sponsorship Program is designed not only to help cover the daily expenses of La Roca, but to help in other areas equally important.
Our sponsorship program fills three very important needs:
First, the program gives our families a sense of belonging and self-worth. Although our volunteers do an outstanding job, our children and mothers know that they are not in an ideal situation. It means a great deal to them to know that someone cares enough to send birthday and Christmas cards, to provide financial support and even make an occasional visit. Although it’s not required, we welcome our sponsors to build a personal relationship with their mother or child.
Second, our program helps offset day to day expenses. The support that is sent goes a long way with the exchange rate in Mexico. Your support helps provide for healthy and nutritious meals, education, utilities, staff, and routine maintenance, as well as the occasional pizza party or fun field-trip on a vacation day!
Third, it provides you, the sponsor, with a great deal of satisfaction knowing that, even across many miles, your giving directly affects a person’s life for the better and that you are giving a family a new opportunity for a healthy and successful life.
WHAT DO SPONSORS RECEIVE?
A Servants Network introductory Sponsorship Packet including:
- Photo of the child
- Information about your child or mother
- An annual photo and annual letter from the child or mother (translated by Servants Network)
- Quarterly newsletters featuring pictures and stories about La Roca and sponsored families
- Exchange photos, brief letters, and cards with the person you sponsor (translated by Servants Network)
- Visit your sponsored child and family in Tijuana, Mexico
Our program is designed to work best for you. Just let us know how much you would feel comfortable giving to help support the work at La Roca:
Lead Sponsorship – A lead sponsor is the only sponsor for a child or mother.
$100 or more per month provides food, shelter, clothing, education & medical care.
Guiding Sponsorship – A child or mother may have two guiding sponsors.$50 or more per month provides food, shelter & clothing.
Amigo Sponsorship – A child or mother may have multiple amigo sponsors.$25 or more per month provides food.
